Description
This clock has some potential, as the veneers are quite attractive. However, the bottom has been broken off and nailed on, the hour hand is broken (needs a tip), and the finials are all turned new and need proper stain and finishing. The well made movement has dead beat escapement with maintaining power (Harrison's ratchet style), and is ticking robustly. The beat scale bears the signature of M. Thormann, Kirschberg in Schloss (would have been the retailer). The height dimension is deceiving, owing to the finials, as this is a short clock. Height 42 inches
