Description
This oak case model appears to have its original finish. The original dial has some paint flaking around the mounting screws, and the trademarks are slightly worn. The movement is a Seth Thomas No. 50, double spring, time. There is a factory label in the lower door that talks about operating the "cylinder recorder" on 12 or 24 hour paper.; "Never use larger than No.10 rubber band to hold sheet on cylinder". It specifies the setting of a thumb screw to change the speed. This timepiece does not have this recorder, nor does it have room for one, so the device may have been external to the clock (?). The movement winds with a normal key, however there is no key for the locking doors. Height 26 inches
