Description
Round balance wheel movement with bell strike, is signed by the maker, "Lenzkirsch", and "1 Million 76216". The ball is porcelain, beautiful blue paint, metal back cover. Ball is 7 1/2 inches in diameter, numerals and designs painted on the ball in gold. The bracket, chains and ornaments are bronze. There are many mythical birds, lions, demons head at the bottom, a flying dragon at the top holding the entire clock in his mouth. The whole deal is about 36 inches top to bottom. If I could have found a good wall stud, in the right place, it would not be for sale. It is a keeper and extremely heavy. I have heard of 2 similar clocks. One sold on E-Bay last year, that was missing most of the hanger, chain, and trim around the ball, and sold for $4000. A dealer in the northeast sold one privately, not nearly this nice, for over $6,000.
