Description
8 day, fancy gilt regulator, 16 inches high. This must be the top of their line as the case is beautifully designed with heavy raised decorations in rich ormolu gold plate finish. Now mostly worn off, tarnished and dirty, never cleaned. Beveled plate glass front, sides, and back. 1 small corner chip in the front and back glasses. 8 day, strikes hours on a cathedral gong and half hours on a separate cup bell. 4 1/2 inch ivory porcelain dial with the open escapement and patent Beat Adjuster. Outer ring is very good, inner dial has problems. If cleaned good the hairlines wouldn't be nearly as bad looking. This is one of Gilberts fanciest crystal regulators. Running, but out of beat. Ly-Gilbert No.299.
