Description
In a very heavy bronze case, 7 1/2 inches high with finial. Case is very ornate from the rolled top to turned feet. Porcelain dial ring, miniature hand painted insert below the dial, great detail in such miniature work. Signature "1897", and "Dresden", flank the painting. Dial surround and inner dial intricately carved designs. Full bronze door in back covering the winding arbors and more intricate carving, the same signature, and an oval design containing the musical instruments. Glass on 3 sides, one side glass is cracked pretty bad. Plain glass, not beveled. Music box in the base with separate wind, plays on the alarm setting. No knob for the alarm wind or set. The music plays, tune not familiar to me.
