Description
E. Ingraham & Co., Bristol, CT "Ionic Calendar", ca 1886. This early calendar used the B. B. Lewis patented, perpetual calendar "V" mechanism. 8 day movement runs real well, hour striker. Full black and gold labels inside the case and over the calendar mechanism. 29 1/2 inch rosewood case has never been cleaned. Dark but enough rosewood finish showing thru the 115 year accumulation of coal smoke. 12 inch upper dial is new paper, bottom dial is 10 1/2 inches and has never been exposed to the air, therefore very nice and clean. Brass hinges and dial rings are bright and clean. Ly-Ingraham, page 112.
