Description
The top urn, dial surround, lion ornament on the base, and 3 feet, are all attached to that one piece of wood. Birds have glass eyes. There are detailed carvings all over the body of the case. Certainly an old carving, I would guess about 1850. Cuckoo type dial, fancy brass hands, brass movement, permanent pendulum. Movement is probably only 30 hour and I can't guarantee it is original to this case, but it is running. I have sold similar clocks over the years and the buyers would invariably change it out and put in an 8 day movement.
