American Waltham Watch Co, No. 2835780, circa 1885. Fine and very rare, gilt brass and glass Gaslight Night Clock in original leather fitted box. C. standing on three feet mounted directly on the bezel, hinged easel terminated with tapered cylinder to be set over a lamp cone, movement housed within a brass can-like cover. D. milk glass with radial Arabic numerals, outer minute ring, blued steel "fleur-de-lys" and lozenge hands. M. 16 size, frost gilt, 3/4-plate, 7 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut-bimetallic compensation balance with blued steel flat balance spring, safety pinion. Signed on the dial. Diam. 14 cm (5 1/2")
