Description
This oak case example is in pretty good condition. The case has been stripped. The left side of the hood has developed cracks in the wood from dryness. The figures or decorations that would mount on top of the hood are missing although copies can be obtained. The thin dust cover over the top of the hood needs to be replaced, as it is missing (leather, vinyl or thin card stock will do). The dial has been restored. The hands are original. The weight driven movement needs to be cleaned as it has been in storage a long time. The brass pins that secure the sliding base to the case are missing (simple to make). This is actually a good example of a "tail clock" that will restore nicely. Height 46Ó $650-$750
