Description

This is an exceptional clock, with a large cast plate movement, with the special DRPNr. for this unique movement, cast into the bottom cross strap. Mounted to the back of the case is a large 4-note gong assembly [straigHeight rods], which strikes 4 descending notes at the quarter, 8 for the half, and 12 for quarter till. The hour get 16 notes followed by the cuckoo on deep toned bellows and equally deep toned resonant gong. The carved wooden cuckoo is with articulated wings and retains much of its original color. Note male bird at top (with tail plume extended), and hen and chick in the nest below dial, all with fine detail (small repair to top with rear reinforcement).
