Description

This is a large and well made custom case of mahogany and cherry, probably made by a small cabinet shop to match someone's parlor furniture. The dial is a period 30-hour brass tall clock dial that was fitted to the case and drilled for a good 19th Century German movement striking on a single bell. The dial is signed "Abram Thornton". The date aperture on the dial is covered up, as there is no calendar wheel on this mov't. The Chippendale style case is in nice condition with some minor dings and scratches; lower door has warped a little and does not close fully [fixable]. A very decorative piece of furniture. Height 28Ó $750-$850
