Description
The bronze itself is exceptional, with fine detail. The marble base has some damage, a full crack across the top piece which supports the statue and other small losses along the base. The well made 8-day bell strike movement seems to run and strike, however the porcelain dial has a large repair around the rigHeight winding hole. Note also that hanging the pendulum requires the patience of Job, since you have to snake it up between the bell and the crutch with little clearance; rear cover does not open. In perfect condition, we would have expected this to fetch around $5000. Height 18Ó $900-$1,200
