Description
"Atkins, Porter & Co., Bristol, Conn", ca 1840-1846. 30 hour strike and internal alarm. Alarms on the same gong as the half hour and hour strike. The movement is signed the same as the label, and is type 19.1. Note the 3 winding holes in the dial. Old dial has been repainted, bottom glass has new putty, and is flaking. Excellent full label, period weights, pendulum, hands. 26 inch mahogany veneer case has chips on all corners and one chip on the door. Certainly a rare and restorable early OG. I can find very little about this company but there are several "Bulletin" articles that refer to them.
