Description
"Ansonia Brass and Copper Co., Ansonia, Conn", ca 1869-1877. This case was most frequently fitted with an Ansonia calendar mechanism, rarely seen in time and strike only. This is a large weight clock, 8 day, striking a coil gong. Good original dial, period weights, pendulum, hands, and label. Upper glass is original, bottom replaced. Good gold around the bottom glass. Finials are correct. The case is almost 33 inches high, made of figured rosewood veneer and within an eyelash of being mint. Cornice top, door is rounded. Beautiful clock only needing the bottom glass painted to finish it off. Ly-Ansonia No.123, 125, 127.
