Description
The brass movement is ca about 1847, with non roller pinions, and running. Manross bankrupt in 1854. This fine mahogany veneer case is 23 1/2 inches high. Top glasses are original, bottom is a very old mirror which may or may not be original to this case. Finials are all 4 a match and old. Painted zinc dial is holding paint pretty well, some flaking at the top and right side, outside the chapter ring. Coil gong has been moved around in the case but no doubt original. Bottom half of case has a very old painting on paper, where a label should be. If there is, or ever was a label it is behind the painting.
