Description

The 12" painted dial with Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds and calendar rings, with very unusual repousse brass corner mounts of lancers on horseback. Signed Hooker Lewes. Five pillar plated movement with rack striking on a bell. The break arch case of excellent colour surmounted by three ball and spire finials. With fluted pillars to the hood and canted angles to the trunk, both with brass fillets. William Hokker is listed as a clockmaker 1803 - 1832. Mary successor to William 1833 - 1839
