Description
Very rare octagon wall clock ca 1853-1855. Made during the 2 year period it was anoint company. The company failed in 1855 and taken over by New Haven. Jerome's name is on the dial, but shown in the New Haven section of Ly-Calendar, page 201, and Millers "Calendar Clocks", page 127. It is this exact clock pictured in Millers. It belonged to N.H. Neames per the Miller book. There is a sticker on the back of this clock "N.H. Neames". Movement is 30 hour lever, strikes on a bell. The one in Ly-Calendar strikes on a wire gong.13 inch octagon case, Mother of Pearl inlay, original fair dial. There is a lot of documentation on this rare old clock. It is very rare because of the calendar, and striking on a bell.
