Description
8 day movement strikes a coil gong, and is running. Signed "EN Welch". Complete label on the backboard by "Welch, Spring, & Co". and a black label over the calendar movement that is signed, "B.B. Lewis Perpetual Calendar, Mfg. by Welch, Spring & Co." When B.B.Lewis went to work for Welch he sold them his surplus stock and Welch just added their labels. 20 inch walnut veneer case is very nice, some veneer chipping only on the very bottom. The dials are excellent, hands, glasses, and pendulum are original. This old calendar clock has not been tinkered with. See Ly-Welch, 98, 101, and Ly-Calendar 847, 846, 850.
