Description

Stands13 inches high and is 13 3/4 inches wide. 2 labels on the base indicate the exclusive sales agent for Seth Thomas and Sons was, the American Clock Co., NY. From the labels it was probably sold around 1870. The great design of the case with the 4 bronze columns, 4 bronze feet, and dial surround, makes it a model that is very collectable. The metal is clean and bright. Painted metal dial has some numbers highlighted, large beveled glass. Round French or copy of a French movement, with outside count wheel, bell strike, and running. Beveled glass, fancy bronze bezel, and bronze door on the back. A few ticks in the slate but being black is almost impossible to see them. Ly-American, Volume 2, page 311.
