Description

This little brass front timepiece is in good condition. The dial has a hairline crack in the center and repairs to the three and nine position. The clock sits on an original base with brass feet, and with traces of hand painted decoration on the front of the base. The dome has a small piece missing on the bottom, about the size of half a penny. Botsford's design was unique, using a mono-metallic (brass) balance oscillating in a horizontal plane, and the lever impulsed by a escape wheel rotating in a vertical plane. The layout is rugged and these are always strong runners. See also lot No.82. Height 11"
