Description:This Octagon top, long drop wall clock has a movement made in New Haven Connecticut by the New Haven Clock Co. around 1880. The company then shipped many of the movements to their British office where they were cased by English craftsmen in the finest quality wood cases. This one has a slanted base with lavish carvings and full-turned finials. It has fancy grooved moldings all over the case. The gong strikes on the hours and once on the half/hour with a deep resonant tone and a cathedral base voice. The dial has been professionally repainted. One small "hurt"-the rear of the top on one finial is flat-not visible unless you turn the clock around or upside down..(see photo image no. 4).
