Description
measuring 7 inches tall. Movement with time, strike, repeater button to re-strike the hours, sweep seconds hand, and visible gearing in the reverse of the clock. Has its original escapement which appears to be in good condition, only overbanked. The staff is not broken however, but the back piece of glass is missing. It strikes on a nickel bell, and the winding arbor is housed inside it. An original engraved signature on the back lower right portion of the movement indicates this clock was originally sold by one of the most famous retailers of the time - "Han de Li." They were the high-class retailer for clocks, watches, and jewelry in the Far East during Victorian times - similar to modern day Tiffany's. Sold in unrestored condition without any reserve.
