Description
This little novelty clock was patented in 1856 by J.C. Briggs. The original models were made by George W. Brown, famous toy maker of Forestville and later by E.N. Welch. The earlier models use pins to hold the plates together and later went to screws (as does this one). Although unmarked, this clock was made by E.N. Welch. The clock retains its original hands, pendulum, and dial. The dome is a replacement and too tall for the clock. A cute and rare little clock; worth finding a better dome. Height 9"
