Description

strap-brass movement Carved-top Empire style case clock. The clock has an early type Joseph Ives strap-brass movement with roller pinions ( and round cut outs in the wheels) . The carved splat and Corinthian columns are beautiful. The dial is original with some loss of the gold leaf in the chapter ring. The upper glass and mirror are original, but the upper glass has been reputtied in place. The bottom glass is an appropriate replacement done on old glass. The clock even retains its original dust caps over the weight pulleys. Old hands do not match and should be corrected. The label is in nice condition. Most of these Ives are in tough shape, but this is one you can be proud of; very collectible. Height 38"
