Description

a semi-nude teacher with tablet and scroll, in generally good condition. The well detailed statue with fine features. There has been some minor touch up with white paint, and there is evidence of a missing garland in the girl's hair, and the clock sat in a smoky room and has some nicotine stains on the tablet and other crevices. A blue and white frieze surrounds the base with winged cherubs at study, measuring the globe, looking through a telescope and reading scrolls. The well made silk suspension movement is complete and sound; porcelain dial with a chip at right winding hole, and by F/S stem; silk style pendulum is a replacement. Considering that the clock is 200 years old, it is in quite good condition. Runs and strikes; Height 17"
