Description
A primative oil of a church in the English countryside with an actual working clock as the turret clock of the church. These were popular at the time but are now relatively hard to find. The clock movement is a German 30hr balance escapement mounted in a frame behind the canvas. The movement has been serviced and is fully working. The canvas has been re-lined and the frame re-gilded. The actual painting is a primitive and pleasing composition and is not signed. Dimensions of the frame - 35" x 27.5"
