Description
This is a period Louis XVI dore bronze shelf clock with silk thread suspension. The case is made by the master bronze maker , Deverberie of Paris. It is very rare to find an 8 day brass movement in an early Austrian clock and was probably made by an Austrian diplomat. The 4" convex enamel dial with Roman markers is excellent. An identical clock is pictured in Tardy's "Clocks the World Over " English Edition , Part II ( page 85 ). The dimensions of this clock are 17 " x 9 " x 3.5". Running duration 8 Days
