Description

A mid-19th century high quality clock, the white enamel dial with Roman numerals and Breguet hands. Eight day movement striking the hours and half hours on a bell, has outside count wheel. Housed in a fluted horizontal cylindrical drum case surmounted by Ceres holding a sickle in her hand leaning on a sheaf of corn with basket and thresher. The high quality metal case is crisply cast and gilded, showing an exquisite attention to detail. Makers mark to reverse. Original unrestored condition; clean and working; last owner fitted wooden feet on the back legs to protect his furniture. The dimensions are 11 inches wide, 13" tall and 4.5" deep.
