The mahogany cases on these always suffer a little bit because of maids who overfilled the dish causing water to run down the sides, and although this one is not perfect, it is among the nicest we have seen. Note the well made Swiss lever timepiece movement drives a circular magnet which in turn positions the floating turtle in the pewter bowl, pointing his nose to the correct time. A great novelty.
