Description

Philadelphia (signed on dial in porcelain cartouche), profusely decorated with applied fleur-de-lis on front and sides (even heavy fleur-de-lis handles), and with cast Greek feet below and unusual finials with pineapple tips at top. The well made French movement bears no. 5570 and with matching number pendulum. But the most interesting feature is that the clock strikes the hours and halves on the large 4.5" brass bell held aloft by cast floral supports and surmounted by a bronze finial of leaves. The movement was specially designed with an articulated rod extending from the movement up through the case top to the bell. This is a very high quality item. Needs cleaning; Height 17" $600-900
