Description

in walnut, by Ignatz Nowak, Wien. This clock has had a new top carved by a Viennese cabinet maker and he did quite a nice job. You probably couldn't tell, except that he forgot to put dowels in to hold it on, and the color is a bit dark. This is a long, 72 beat clock, and with an attractive carved panel in the case back. The stabilizers are missing (retainers are there); the clock is otherwise complete, and with an outstanding movement, mounting on two gilded brackets with thumb screws. Also with key lock door (with key!). The gut is failing and will need replacing soon. Despite the new top, we would classify this as excellent. Height 58" $2000-2500
