Description
When the fellows helped Ly estimate the values of these tall clocks, they obviously had not seen this particular one, as I believe their estimate of $11,000 is inadequate. This clock is from a home here in New Hampshire. It has been idle for a while and will need cleaning. However, the quality of the carving on the mahogany case is unbelievable. What is not obvious from the catalog picture is that the carving is on all 3 sides of the hood. The glazed door has swelled a little in the humid weather, and may need relief to close. 14' silvered dial is original and untouched as is the exterior finish. Beveled glass in door, 2-weight, 8-day. A Howard collector"s dream. Height 8-ft, 9-in. Additional keywords: longcase, tallcase, grandfather
