Description
and barometer with thermometer, restored. This is an attractive clock, the movements held in circles of gilded rope between the flukes and the shank, the bronze anchor silvered and with a gilt ring, the tapered shank with a Fahrenheit thermometer intact. The time only movement has a cylinder platform, which seems a bit sluggish, but managed to run for over 2 days, and the Aneroid barometer seems OK as well. The fired porcelain dials are perfect; hands original. For literature, see Derek Roberts' Mystery, Novelty and Fantasy Clocks, page 258. Height 9" $700-900
