Description
with alarm, as-found. This heavy cast brass case and handle is very unusual for this time period, apparently Davies' attempt to provide the "feel" of French carriage clocks. Moreover, he mounted the Connecticut spring movement to a large iron bracket which provided additional weight. Despite its' large size and 'hefty' feel, the clock runs for only a day. The paper dial has dark stains and with edge flakes; lacks alarm hand. (Pat. 1877), Unusual; Height 7" Reserve $150
