a rare American made shelf cuckoo with patent Connecticut open spring movement, modified with 1866 patent additions to the plates to allow for two lifting arms in sequence to accomplish the "cuckoo" sound. This clock comes to us from storage, as-found, less rear dust cover. In a bag with the clock are new hands, a numeral set to apply and the pendulum. The dust cover is simple to make from a rectangle of thin pine. If this were complete and original, we would expect it to sell for around $800. Height 19" $300-500
