Description
This clock comes to us as-found and IS missing the numerals 4 and 6. The bronze case is an intricate casting with lots of rococo detail. This is a small eared Indian elephant, as used in Louis XVI clocks of the same style. The case is surmounted by a winged cherub. This clock came to us from storage and the case is very dusty; the movement was cleaned maybe 20 years ago and is still trying to run and strike. Refer to Tardy's La Pendule Francaise, part II, pages 232-233 for similar clocks with this motif. Some real potential if you can make replacements for the numerals. Height 12" (32cm) Reserve $1100
