Description

the dome with a small crack. I may have had the source information incorrect in previous descriptions of this model, as I have referred to its introduction at the Paris Exhibition of 1851 and I stand corrected, as it was rather the Great Exhibition at Hyde Park, London, at the French exhibit. In any case, full details on this clock may be found in the book Skeleton Clocks by F.B.Royer-Collard, pages 69 and 70, and its twin is pictured in detail on page 69, showing the alarm, the fine engraving on the front plate of the clock, and even the engraving on the pendulum itself. This clock is from a home in Boston, has some wear and tear on the base but is generally in very good condition. Height 9" $900-1200
