Description
This clock has been disassembled and sprayed gold. The spelter hunter has a heavy coat of copper that is oxidized, and the plume for his hat and his flint-lock rifle are ormolu. Note he is holding his dead prey - a pheasant. The well made bell strike movement has a silk thread suspension, and runs and strikes. The tip of the minute shaft will need attention, as a soft retainer pin has been sheared off even with the shaft and needs drifting out; amazingly the original hands have not gotten lost. This clock has an elegant look for this price range; height 18" $175-275
