with religious themes. The dial surround shows a nun reading the scriptures with a child, and the pendulum center with a winged angel holding an infant. The movement is a crown-verge with alarm intact. The dial is signed Chauoin a` Chateauneuf and has some hairlines, but is very good. The hour hand is in 2 pieces (taped for photo). The cord has failed and needs renewing. Generally a good sound clock that will respond to cleaning and run for many years to come. Note weights are soup cans filled with lead, painted gold; brass of clock has been sprayed gold as well. Height 58" $400-600
