Description

only 5" (13cm) high, by Franz Riess (engraved on chapter ring). Has a 2-day time movement with crown wheel/verge and cow's tail pendulum swinging in front of the dial. The alarm is wound by pulling a cord on the left rear of the clock. Note the alarm barrel is made for a very small chain, and now has a piece of gut in place (OK, but should be changed). The left front bun foot got knocked off and is glued on with hot melt glue (should be soldered). Despite the restorations needed, this is a good 18th century clock that is complete and sound. Height 5" Reserve $2400
